I know what you are thinking. Why would anyone eat seafood in a city located so far from the ocean. One word… “air travel”. The Trap fly’s fresh seafood in daily and knows how to prepare and serve it. One of the owners is a lobster fisherman up in Maine, so there. Oddly enough, they do have a very good quality 11 oz New York Strip on the menu which they practically give away for $34. Another great value can be had every Tuesday night when Oysters go for $1 each. A lost leader for sure. My favorite dish at the Trap is the Cioppino which is very similar to bouillabaisse with a savory tomato-based broth with fish, crab legs, muscles, and clams. They rotate this dish with a similar version under a different name and featuring red snapper. Otherwise, you can order as many versions of lobster dishes as Forest Gump did with shrimp. A nice wine list and several local brews on tap. See you there on dollar oyster night!
