Situated along the French Broad River where it flows north and cuts through the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville has always attracted a inimitable set of imaginative individuals from every walk of life. Whether they be George W. Vanderbilt in search of a site befitting the largest and most luxurious home in America or yet-to-be-discovered artists seeking inspiration from the stunning natural scenery, Asheville has something to offer everyone. Be it the blinding colors of the fall foliage or the explosion of perennials that push up from the soil every spring, to be here is to be surrounded by nature in its purest form. Along with the brisk and invigorating mountain breezes that encompass the region every evening, this heavy dose of nature just seems to bring out the best in people and inspires almost everyone to be outgoing and friendly. Among the astounding number of top-quality restaurants in the area, it is common to see giddy diners reach over to share their delight and discuss their meals with neighboring tables. Without exception, the topics of dinning options and restaurant recommendations prevail. Everyone becomes a food critic. Me included. Hence, as a lifelong food lover and trained home cook, I decided to create ASHVITTLES,com to share my culinary experiences. I strive to dine at least 3 times at each restaurant before I document my reflections and I try to shy away from unconstructive comments. A few of my critics has asked “Don’t you have anything negative to say?” Well, the answer is yes, but that would serve no purpose. If they are listed here, I definitely recommend them. If they are not listed, either I have not yet visited them (a short list), I have dined there less than 3 times, or my experiences while dinning there were not altogether positive. I invite you to ride along with me on this culinary journey and provide your input by hitting the “Contact” tab at the bottom of the first page. I will respond to you and will revise my review as appropriate. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy Ashevittles!
