Perhaps Asheville’s most traditional Indian restaurant, very reminiscent of those found all over London with the copper serving dishes and a steaming bowl of rice served in a separately with each entrée. There are seven different types of Naan available, all made in the traditional tandoori oven where the dough is slapped onto the interior clay wall of the fiery oven until crispy.   The food quality is high and the portions generous.  Andaaz offers all of the traditional Indian dishes including; curry, madras, vindaloo, thali, masala plus many vegetarian options.  The salad of walnuts and mandarin orange slices over spring greens dressed in a reduced orange vinaigrette is a meal unto itself and it only costs $8.00.  On Saturdays and Sundays they offer a $21.00 buffet with at least a dozen different entrees from which to choose.  Andaaz has a list of fancy cocktails and a suitable wine list although for some reason, I don’t usually drink with Indian food.
