One of the best bakeries in town if not the best. The other two notables are Owl Bakery on Charlotte Street and Well Bread in Biltmore Village. City Bakery serves breakfast and lunch in a dining room shared with Bone & Broth next door. Parking is tight during lunch as they draw a faithful neighborhood crowd. Breakfast includes an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and a nice selection of pastries, scones, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls and bagels. Lunches feature a daily gourmet quality soup, a couple of salads and several sandwich selections. Whole Foods stocks a daily selection of City Bakery breads but they tend to dry out by the end of the day so try to buy it in the morning.
