Papas & Beer – lunch and dinner

While they call this “California Style” Mexican food, it is as close to TexMex as you will find in Asheville.  I have tried them all and this is the best in my opinion.  The minute you sit down, they put a basket of fresh tortilla chips and a bean/cheese on the table.  Be careful as these are filling and very addictive.  The menu has everything under the Mexican sun so you will find what you like.   The first margarita is good but the second one is excellent!  I don’t recall the 3^rd.  Other good Mexican food can be found at Ay Caramba Mexican Grill & Bar on Marrimon and El Que Pasa on Patton Avenue.

Hours:  11:00am – 9:30pm every day (until 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday)
